Francis Marion Crawford was a notable American writer renowned for his romantic novels with their vivid characters, settings, and often fantastical plot lines. 'Casa Braccio' was Crawford's twenty-fifth novel first published in 1896. Like many of his other works, this novel is set in Italy and demonstrates Crawford intimate knowledge of local Italian history and culture. In a half crushed morocco signed Mudie binding. Externally generally smart, with slight rubbing to extremities and joints. Slight marking to boards. Binder's ink stamp to verso of front free-endpaper. Prior owner's ink inscription to second free-endpaper. Internally firmly bound.
