Unknown, Publisher, c1900. Leather. An attractive collection of 40 plates depicting various styles of furniture. Label to front pastedown suggests previous owner to have been Doris Langley Moore (1902–1989), one of the first important female fashion historians. Langley Moore founded the Fashion Museum, Bath (as The Museum of Costume) in 1963. She was also a well-respected Lord Byron scholar, and author of a 1940s ballet, The Quest. Written in French. In a half calf binding with marbled boards. Externally, worn. Leather is rather rubbed and the boards are a trifle faded. Some loss to the base of the spine. Front board held by cords only. Internally, generally firmly bound. Foxed to varying degrees throughout, tidemarks to the last few pages. Label to front pastedown. Fair . Ill.: None. Fair .
