- A Small Group of 1903 San Francisco "Christmas Ornament" Photographs

San Francisco, By the photographer, 1903. Four albumen- and silver gelatin- prints, mounted on a gray, photo album paper; different sizes, but approx. 4 x 3; two of the photos die-cut, as originally printed; captioned in manuscript, in white ink: "S. F. 1903;" mild wear - in very good condition. A lovely group of pre-earthquake San Francisco photographs, they gave a distinctive festive vibe, as they were printed in Christmas-ornament shapes, including a bell, a rhombus, an oval, and the last - a narrow, long rectangle. The four landmarks pictured were the Dewey Monument at Union Square, the Golden Gate Bandshell, with groups of smartly-dressed people around it, the Ferry Building Clock Tower, and the City Hall. Very good .
