Samuel Simon Schmucker (1799 - 1873) was a German-American Lutheran theologian, pastor, and author. He was also the co-founder of the General Synod and the Gettysburg Seminary. His current book presented the history of the pre-Reformation "reign of Popery" and the glorious "rise and triumph of the Reformation. Very good .
