Dickinson, Thomas H.; George Foster Peabody (Forward) - The Portrait of a Man As Governor

New York, The Macmillan Company, 1928. First edition. Hardcover. pp. 38. 12mo. Boards show some soiling and corners are a bit bumped. binding tight, contents unmarked. A good plus, to very good, copy. This is a unique copy of this book, as it is inscribed by George Foster Peabody (1852-1930, who wrote the forword). Peabody was an american businessman and philanthropist after whom the Peabody Award was named. The award recognizes distinguished and meritorious public service by American radio and television stations, networks, online media, producing organizations, and individuals. The book is inscribed to Edward Bemis and is dated June, 1928, Saratoga Springs (probably Edward Webster Bemis [1860-1930] the American economist and a public utility expert. He was a proponent of municipal ownership). .
