Softcover, bound in pictorial wraps. The covers are slightly soiled. 112 pages, profusely illustrated in Black & white and color. Very good. The book was published in connection with an exhibition sponsored by The Museum of Modern Art in collaboration with The Cleveland Museum of Art and The Art Institute of Chicago and includes a catalogue of the exhibition, which ran successively at the three museums from September 12, 1962 to March 24, 1963. Seitz notes in his Acknowledgments that much of the material in the book is based on a series of conversations he had with Mark Tobey during the spring of 1962. Very good .
