Bloch, Robert (author) - Two Letters Written by Robert Bloch, One Handwritten, One Typed![]() No Place, No publisher. Unbound. Two Letters Written by Robert Bloch, one handwritten, one typed. Both on 7 by 6 inch pieces of stationery with Robert Bloch's letterhead at the top. Both are addressed to Mark (Denis) Shepard, the typed one dated June 13, 1983 and the handwritten one dated 10/17/89. Original mailing envelope present with the 1983 letter, with Bloch's address printed on it. Robert Bloch was a prolific writer of psychological horror and fantasy, including the acclaimed Alfred Hitchcock movie "Psycho." The first letter addresses a story by Shepard "Desires," suggesting it may be suited for an anthology or other market (he suggests several magazines for research). Bloch states that "you have an exceptional talent for characterization." A PS by Bloch states "One small quibble: it's not Holst's Mars Suite. It's the Planets [..]" This is signed by Bloch in red marker. The second letter declines to comment on a piece that may have been awaiting publication. Bloch states his reason for doing so. We believe Mark Denis Shepard to have been a director and cinematographer who produced two direct to video films, Dark Romances, Volume 1 and Volume 2, both in 1990. He is co-credited with writing these films as well. Letters in GOOD to VERY GOOD condition. Three small spots of coffee (?) on the 1983 letter, as well as to the accompanying envelope. Faint fold crease to each. Minor wrinkling. Good . USD 189.00 [Appr.: EURO 163.75 | £UK 141.75 | JP¥ 27994] Book number 020931is offered by:
