A poem: in a series of letters, addressed from Benjamin Blunderhead, Esq., to his friend, Simon: describing whatever principally attracted his attention, on his journey (through York,) to, and during his stay at that celebrated watering place.Knaresborough: printed, (for the author), and sold by Hargrove and Son [etc.], 1818 third edition; with three neat plates. 17cm. 98pp, [2]pp publisher's advert, 2 copper plates of the Harrogate Wells + woodcut of Clifford's Tower, 8 fine woodcut devices. Original printed blue paper boards. Plain matching modern blue paper spine; binding lightly rubbed. We have been unable to ascertain from Leeds University Library whether in fact their copy does contain three plates. What we can say is that two copies currently on the market contain a single plate; that was the case with a copy we sold in 2010. This copy came from the 'time-capsule' collection at the Hermitage, Hexham. Items were bought and stored in brown paper wraps until the sale in 2011.
