Contents: Advertisement, a preface to the first edition, Essay I: Of the Viper: An Appendix, containing Anatomical Observations on the Viper, and an Account of some other Venomous Animals. Essay II: Of the Tarantula. Essay III: Of the Mad Dog. Essay IV: Of Poisonous Minerals, and Plants. Essay V: Of Opium. Essay VI: Of Venomous Exhalations From the Earth, Poisonous Arts and Waters. This edition contains two additions that differ from the original edition. The first is the Introduction and the second addition is "An Anatomical Description of those parts in a Viper and in a Rattlesnake, which are concerned in their poison. Good (heavy wear to leather boards, book plate inside front cover, light age toning, missing title page) .
