Spine with 4 raised bands, blind stamped decorated compartments and gilt title: "Holy Bible". All edges gilt. Yellow endpapers. Coloured lithographic frontis, followed by coloured title, followed by printed title. With a further 23 black & white images,15 full-page coloured images, 2 full-page coloured maps, and a "Family Register" with neat entries and photographs for the "Payne " family. Also bound at the rear: "A Concise Biblical Cyclopaedia: A Dictionary Of Sacred Biography, Natural History, Ancient Geography, Eastern Antiquities, And Theology." They had one child during their marriage. He died in March 1955 in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, at the age of 64.
