Tipped to the front flyleaf is an actual pristine library catalogue card for the first trade edition (Knopf) of this title, a heavy stock 5" X 3" card, single-hole-punched at bottom center as expected, signed boldly by Updike in blue ballpoint at center. Fine -- and more interesting than a signed bookplate. Book is housed in the Franklin Library's thin card stock slipcase and accompanied by "Notes from the Editors" leaflet. .
