Contemp. uniform calf with gilt fillets, gilt spine and inner edges, green and red moroc. letterpieces, all edges gilt. FRENCH. This is the rare de-luxe 4to edition in fine bindings, with marbled endpapers, and orig. green reading ties; slight wear to bindings, top of spines slightly damaged, ends both with one small split (20 mm.), rearcover vol. I lacking small piece of leather. The fine portrait engraved by St. Aubin after L.M. vanLoo 1755. Edited by Lefèfevre de la Roche, who inherited the author's manuscripts.
