Netherlands. First work: An introduction to the Talmud by Jeshua ben Joseph, ha-Levi, first published in 1490. In the introduction L'Empereur mentions that he visited Jews in Amsterdam in their homes and in the synagogue and that his (unknown) Jewish teacher in rabbinica got into difficulties with the Parnassim, because L'Empereur made no secret of the fact that he studied rabbinica with the intention of using his knowledge against Judaism.
