Methuen, London, 1937, 2nd edn. and 1st in imprint, (xx), 440pp, frontis, 8 double page and 15 single page sepia tone plates, maps at eps., black cloth lettered in gilt at spine, contains 2 title pages, one from Rich and Cowan showing on verso 3rd imp. of original edition, preceded by a title page with the Methuen imprint marked Second Edition and a contradictory publishing history on verso (ie. a cataloguer's nightmare), the author follows the route of St. Paul from Tarsus through the Middle East and Mediterranean to Rome, a little bumped at spine ends, crnrs. and board edges, impressed mark central in spine, cloth marked in places, gilding rubbed and a little dull, 2 line ink inscr. on blank opposite half title, no dustwrapper, good,
