A collection of letters, numbered 3598-4925, from Huygens to several hundreds of people including scholars, scientists, royalty, and family members. Written mainly in Dutch, but also in French and Latin, and dealing with political matters, news, family business, and so on. The first three parts of this series were published in 1911, 1913, and 1914. All are rare. Uncut. Boards slightly stained; tiny round label mounted on the front board, pencilled number in the top margin of the first blank, otherwise in very good condition.
