"Thaddeus Mason Harris (1768-1842) was a Harvard librarian, Unitarian minister, and author in Boston. He was born on July 7, 1768, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, to William and Rebekah (Mason) Harris. Harris graduated Harvard College with an AB in 1787. Following a year as a school teacher in Worcester, he returned to Harvard to study divinity, earning an AM in 1790. Harris served as librarian at Harvard from 1791-1793. He was then appointed minister of the First Unitarian Church of Dorchester in 1793, where he remained until his retirement in 1836. His published works includeThe natural history of the Bible (1793). Harris was also a member of the Harvard Board of Overseers and chairman of the board's Committee on the Library. Harris married Mary Dix (1776-1852) in 1795, and they had eight children, including Thaddeus William Harris (1795-1856; Harvard AB 1815; MD 1820), a physician and naturalist who also served as librarian at Harvard from 1831-1856. 5. New York residents will be billed appropriate sales tax (unless a tax id number is provided); if paying by check please add the proper amount.
6. Libraries and Institutions can be billed according to their needs.
7. All items are shipped boxed. For domestic orders books are normally shipped USPS media unless another method is specified; shipping and handling is $5.00 for the first book and $2.50 for each additional volume, media rate. For Priority Mail, add $2.50 for the first volume. For Express Mail or other needs, please contact us.
8. For international orders, shipping and handling is calculated individually in order to insure the most economical rate. Smaller items can often be sent Global Priority for $34.00. Heavier and more expensive items will usually be significantly more due to postal requirements.
9. Large or extra heavy books and sets may incur an additional fee.
