[Unpublished copy, for private circulation.] 2 copies only on Copac (BL & Oxford). Half bound in blue cloth by Murray's of Nottingham (label to pastedown) for the Topographical library of John Tricks Spalding (former Mayor of Nottingham), with Spalding's bookplate and elaborate monogram leather onlays in tan, green and blue on upper cover, gilt titling to spine label, top edge gilt. This library was originally sold by Sotheby's in 1925. Later bookplate of G H Wyatt to front pastedown. A handsome copy of a scarce title, with rubbing to extremities, and some spotting internally. George Cornelius Gorham (1787- 1857) was a vicar in the Church of England. His legal recourse to being denied a certain post, subsequently taken to a secular court, caused great controversy.
