Contains reporting on the Fenian Rising in Ireland; the Paris International Exhibition; the Treaty of London granting independence to Luxembourg; and the coronation of Franz Josef as King of Hungary upon the establishment of the dual monarchy of Austria-Hungary. Among the many fine engravings are a full-page depiction of Christ blessing children; numerous illustrations of the Paris Exhibition; Queen Victoria laying the first stone of the Royal Albert Hall; and Franz Joseph's coronation in Budapest.
