Pusey's were the two main leaders of the Oxford Movement, After Newman's conversion to the Catholic Faith, Pusey was one of the most prominet Anglican theologians. He opposed Catholicism on several grounds including issues of devotion to mthe Blessed Virgin Mary. In this work, Newman defends Church teaching on Mary and the Immaculate Conception and counters Pusey's arguments against it. Very good .
