Marbled endpapers, tope edge gilt. Spine decorated with floarl motifs and a singe raised hub. The unsigned binding shows a few traces of rubbing but the book is overall in fine condition. Stated 86th thousand on copyright page (the first edition was in 1915). Rupert Brooke (1887-1915) was a leading literary light in England who bec ame famous for his war poetry at the start of World War One. He died en route to Gallipoli from an infection caused by a simple mosquito bite. Brooke's war poetry cemented his reputation as one of the great young poets of Britain's "Lost Generation.
