Edge tatters, and very delicate, and one corner with loss but nowhere near printed area, text in good condition, binding fully attached.] Titlepage + Introduction + contents + 238pp BUT lacks p47/8 & 197-200. There is some marginal loss to pp 201-204 with loss of only 1 or possibly 2 letters on two or three lines. Foxing and some edges worn, some creasing mainly to corners and corners browned, overall in good condition however. Spine repaired with cloth. Numerous engravings, lithographs of inns/hotels including guesthouses "schwarzen adler, schwanen und oschen". This is the 1841 supplimentry edition, a follow up to the 1st ebing published in 1840. * First edition of the sought-after early Swiss travel guide with the often missing supplement. - Arranged according to cantons, the places and the hotels and inns available there are described in detail in alphabetical order. - "The Swiss can mainly be divided into three large divisions when it comes to their physical characteristics: shepherds, farmers and industrialists." (p. 34). Leuthy also wrote "Geschichte des cantons Zürich".
