Privately Printed, 1892. ix + 127pp. 2 mounted photographic plates (one with a lengthy manuscript note in pencil referring to the circumstances of the image being taken etc.), 1 plate. Some browning, contemporary cloth boards with leather corners, amateur reback in modern similar leather, minor wear, gilt lettered title label to spine. ¶ Presentation copy from the family, inscribed to head of title page ‘C.M.M. with love from E[leanor] C. F[reshfield] (sister) "my sorrow is my crown"’. With occasional marginalia in the same hand. Henry Douglas Freshfield, who died aged fourteen from Meningitis in 1891, son of Douglas Freshfield (1845–1934) British lawyer, mountaineer and author, and his wife Augusta Charlotte Ritchie.
