Rasmus Rask, famous Danish linguist who was one of the founders of comparative linguistics. In this work, Rask established an orthography based on the principle of a single grapheme for each sound, that is, it should be a phonemic orthography. All the Northern Sami orthographies developed since 1832 trace their roots back to Rask's system. Porsanger is a municipality in Finnmark county, Norway. It has been inhabited by Norwegians and Sami people since ancient times. In the 18th century people from Finland settled along the Porsanger river (Kven people). Vater p. 216.
