Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover copies, complete in two volumes and in First Edition states, clean, unmarked interiors, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bound in a light gray cloth, alpine illustrations to upper-right corners. Two different black-and-white illustrations of alps to each volume, front and rear paste-downs and endpapers, quite fine. Editor's Preface to Volume I, Introduction, "In Memoriam, by Horace Walker," then an Author's Preface, and list of illustrations, quite lengthy, and including sharp and distinct black-and-white photographs. Adolphus Warburton Moore (1841–1887) was known as a British civil servant but was beloved as a mountaineer. The Wikipedia entry devoted to him lists half a dozen first ascents (with guides and col-alpinists) just in the 1860s. of Volume I: xxvii, 1-246 pp.; Volume II: xi, 249-524 pp. iiMember, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. . . .
