John White Chadwick (October 19, 1840 – December 11, 1904) was, according to a Wikipedia entry about him, an American writer and clergyman of the Unitarian Church, born in Marblehead, Massachusetts, apprenticed to a shoemaker early on, but then graduated in 1864 from Harvard Divinity School and became an influential pastor and writer, a "radical teacher of the doctrines of his church."
