In 1789 , he travelled 3,500 km down the DEH CHO or Big River to the outlet of the present day Mackenzie River on the Arctic Ocean. In 1793, he paddled and hiked 2,000 km up the Peace River and over the Rocky Mountains to the coast of British Columbia near the present day native community of Bella Coola." "During the years 1989-1993, four groups of students from the School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Torism at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay paddled and portaged the 12,000 km historic waterway route from Montreal to both the Arctic and Pacific Oceans." This was organized to promote a Stay in School message to hundreds of schools and community groups along the way. The book consists of a series of newsletters following the progress of the modern day voyageurs as well as a brief report.. Very Good .
