- [Antique drawing, oude tekening] A family crest (?), 18th century.

 1549141789,
A beautiful drawing of a family crest, possibly of a Van der Valk family branch as the represented animal is a Falco, a hawk.A diamond shaped crest, hanging from a blue ring with a green chord. The hawke is turned to the left, resting on a wooden branch, against a gilded background. This background is further decorated with invisible lobes, that are to be seen when the sheet is held against the light. On the right, a handwritten note in pen: 'owerscie,' possibly referring to the Overschie region, now included in the Rotterdam area. The paper has a watermark with a Fleur de lis in a shield, surmounted by a crown. On the sides of the lily the letters I and S. This watermark does not appear in the literature. Painted drawing on laid paper; total: 178 x 166 mm; black ink, brown shades, gold, green, and light blue; horizontal folding crease, some staining, frayed margins, folding traces on the corners, some worm holes on the left side, otherwise in very good condition.
