Book condition : very good. - Gilbert-Désiré-Joseph Bachelu (1777-1849) was a French division commander during the Napoleonic Wars, and on this poster he represents himself to the voters in the Department of the Seine as a Republican. The 1848 French Constituent Assembly election held in France on 23 and 24 April 1848 to elect the Constituent Assembly of the new Republic. Over nine million citizens were eligible to vote in the first French election since 1792 held under male universal suffrage. Due to the possibility of multiple candidacies, partial elections were held on June 4. In 1849 he died of cholera.
