Illustrated clipped dust-jacket is darkened with small amounts of loss adjacent to the spine and corners, the brown cloth covers, stamped in gilt with Bewley Girls' Secondary Modern School, are clean with a light mark at the bottom edge and are slightly cocked. The front end-paper contains a prize inscription dated 1953, the binding is tight (the volume appears to unread), the pages are slightly darkened but clean.
