Inscription on front end-paper "To Agnes Rix, Sec. a birthday gift with grateful wishes from her chief, Henry van Dyke, Avalon, Nov. 10, 1924", a NJ address is pencilled below. Van Dyke was the US Minister to the Netherlands and Luxembourg between 1913 and 1916. Miss Rix seems to have been known to him during that period and afterwards. Quantity Available: 1.
