Hovey was a once noted poet who died after stomach surgery. This is an early printed appearance by him. In GOOD condition with mathematical calculations in pencil on the rear wrap and minor notations on the front wrap, regarding Dartmouth. Moderate darkening to the wraps, mostly along the extremities, with minor to moderate soiling and minor spotting. Some chipping to the extremities, mostly at the corners, with a 1 by ¼ wide strip missing along the upper front edge. Spine with a 3 inch split along the front upper hinge.
