Recent tan half calf over marbled boards, spine with four raised bands, gilt lettering and decorations. This was the first English treatise devoted exclusively to the law of shipping. With chapters on property in British ships, qualifications of the master and mariners, authority of the master, payment of freight, salvage, hiring of seamen, wages, vessels of the United States, form of articles generally used between master and mariners in the United States, and more. Also includes an index of cases cited. Faint stain affecting upper and lower edge of text block (more visible on title page), old annotation in ink on page 285. A very good+ copy.
