Dutch language scholarly inquiry into the old problem of manpowered boats and galleys, propelled my sitting and standing rowers (with or without additional sail). Very interesting indeed. Good copy. Author worked for a long time as a civil servant in the Dutch East Indies, subdistrict Manggarai (Flores), Saleijer and Pangkadjene, Eastern Indonesia.
