An interesting late nineteenth century essay, partly after private observations, being a description of Bali and the Balinese, physical geography, climate, the local population, customs, beliefs, religion, ceremonies, means of subsistence, daily life, birth, marriage,death, &c. Still of interest. Very good copy, from the library of G.L. Tichelman-Overveen, Holland, his name-label at tail of spine. (ti.-p. removed, title in Ms. in ink with date of publication in upper margin of author's introduction).
