Edward Wedlake Brayley, revised and edited by Edward Walford: - A topographical history of Surrey (4 volumes bound in two).

Second edition, complete in four volumes bound in two (hardbacks). 4to (31cm by 26cm), vii, 391pp; v, 390pp; v, 392pp; vi, 396pp. 79 steel-engraved plates, including 3 coloured maps (correct as per lists), 75 wood-engraved text illustrations. Contemporary full brown morocco, gilt spines, gilt borders to the boards, all edges gilt. The bindings have been rebacked retaining the original spines, but the the addition of strips of leather to the joints (of a similar colour to the original binding). The bindings are a little rubbed. The contents are generally in very good condition, with some minor faults (creasing and foxing to the endpapers, tear to pp 179/180 in volume 2, stains to the margins of the three of the plates in volume 2). Overall, this set is in good condition.
