London, Blackie, (1900?). Presumed First edition. Hardcover. Two volumes 8vo with an Introduction by John G. M'Kendrick. Pp xxiii + 521 (Volume I) and iv + 523-1104 (Volume II). Illustrated by about 400 figures in the text and a series of engraved plates - 19 full-page plates. Half bound in Morocco with burgundy buckram boards. The spines are stamped in black and gilt with 4 raised bands. All book block edges are marbled. The leather is a little rubbed at the edges. The bindings are tight and the contents are clean and unmarked. There is some superficial surface damage to the leather at some of the corners. A nice set. Very Good .
