Paul François Jean Nicolas, vicomte de Barras (1755 – 1829) was a leader of the French Revolution, the main executive officer during the Directorate, and the man largely responsible for the rise of Napoleon, as well as for his marriage to Josephine. Spines uniformely sunned, boards moderately soiled, slightly cocked, former owner's name neatly stamped on fep of volume one only, otherwise unmarked, tight and clean. VERY GOOD. 8vo 8" - 9" tall.
