London. Collins, 1956., The B. I. Company was founded in 1856 as the Calcutta & Burmah Steam Navigation Company Ltd. to run a Mail Service between Calcutta and Rangoon. They started with 2 vessels but by 1922 they had 158, and were the largest Merchant fleet in the world. 272 pages including a list of the ships in the B. I. Fleet from 1856 to 1956, and index. Contents near fine, no inscription or marks. Navy-blue cover is very good but faintly damp stained along top edge. Very good d./w. except damp stain on back top edge, small tear front bottom edge, & 2cm. tear back bottom edge. 1956
