The author is Director of the Lady Lever Art Gallery, & used the cost-books of Waring and Gillow, contemporary pattern books and photographs of furniture in the Queen's collection, also pieces in the Lady Lever collection. 4 plates in colour. 125 pages including notes on the plates, bibliography & index, followed by approximately 96 pages of b. & w. plates showing photographs of furniture, pages from Gillows order books and engravings. Near fine but top front corner bumped. D./w. is bumped along top & bottom edges, ½ " tear top front edge, ½" tear bottom front edge & 1" tear back bottom edge, o./w. near fine. 10" x 7½". 1962

Books are posted only after payment is received. Please say if you prefer insured post. Postage in UK is by 1st class, overseas is by surface unless airmail is requested. I post to most places in the world.

I aim to please! I describe every fault, tiny tear & blemish in a book, because I would like the customer to be pleased & content with their purchase. Some have been surprised that their book is actually better than they thought it would be! I scan most books, & if requested can send more. If a customer finds a book ordered from me is not as described, then within 14 days he can return it for a full refund, but only if I consider its in the same condition as when I posted it. He must have proof of posting, & should also notify me first.
