The first part [by Rajagopalachari] details his political biography as an Indian National Congress activist in the late 1930s and his activities post-independence as Congress dissident pamphleteer: founder of People's Civil Liberties Union, Executive Committee member of Tamilnad United Front (sponsored by Tamilnad Committee of the Communist Party), ca. 1952, subsequent anti-Communist/anti-Congress supporter of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (late 1960s- early 1970s).
