(Eastwood, James). Barlay, Kate. - Good Food from Hungary. London: Frederick Muller Ltd. [1958]. [1958]. - Octavo, 8 inches high by 5-3/8 inches wide. Blue cloth titled in gilt on the spine, in a color pictorial dust wrapper. There are short tears and chips along the top edge of the dust jacket with wear to the head and tail of the jacket's spine. 160 pages, with textual illustrations by James Eastwood. There is a rectangular strip of offsetting centered at the upper half of the half-title, title, and copyright pages (apparently from an old strip once covering the copyright date). Very good. First edition. "Kate Barlay, herself Hungarian by birth, has written many short stories about the country of her youth, and although present-day Hungary is unhappy and oppressed, she hopes this book will help to recall the gaiety and zest for good living which were so characteristic of this small nation on the banks of the Danube before the war." [Quoted from the dust wrapper blurb]. Good .
