New York: Playbill Incorporated, (1950). (1950). - Small quarto, 9 inches high by 6-5/8 inches wide. Stapled white wraps illustrated with a caricature of Ethel Merman by Peter Arno on the front cover. The covers are creased with a few small chips and a small stained hole above the play's title. 56 pages, with illustrations throughout. Good. Boldly inscribed by heavyweight champion Max Baer to Billy Farley, likely the boxer who won 2 bouts back in 1904-05: "Billy Farley - Hello 'Champ' Your pal Max Baer 1950". The world heavyweight champion from June 1934 to 1935, Max Baer (1909-1959) won the title by defeating Max Schmeling in 1933. He subsequently lost to James Braddock in 1935. Both fights were named "Fight of the Year" by "The Ring" magazine. Baer went on to referee boxing matches and performed in occasional film and television roles. Good .
