This grammar, probably the first of its kind, was revised by Sir Grierson who also corrected the terminology. Francke was a German missionary who served in Ladakh and Lahul for several years. Later he was appointed the first professor of Tibetan at the Berlin University. Includes an Appendix containing idioms and useful sentences with literal translation.
