Gloucester: 20th June 1798. 0. Last will and Testament for William Dicks of Oldbury on the Hill in the County of Gloucester.. dated 22nd May 1798 in the presence of Miles Rich & John Chappell - Original folded and creased vellum document 21cm x 28.8cm. Original 18th century vellum probate certificate in English with blue seal and ink stamp (but no wax seal). Landscape format. Creased and soiled. 13.5cm x 26cm Edward Cooke Master of Arts Vicar General in Spirituals of the Right Reverend Father in God Richard by Divine Permission Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Gloucester and of his Episcopal Consistory Official Principal lawfully constituted, do by these presents make known to all men that on the twentieth Day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred And Ninety Eight before Us the last Will and Testament of William Dickes late of the parish of Oldbury on the Hill in the country and Diocese of Gloucester deceased. Hereunto annexed and approved and registered and administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the Deceased and any way concerning his Will was granted to Heston Dickes, Tho. Rolier Executriox named in the said will the said having been first sworn upon the Holy Evangelist well and faithfully Administer the same and to make a true and perfect inventory of all singular the said goods chattels and credits and to exhibit the same into the Registry of the Lord Bishop of Gloucester on or before the last Day of July next ensuring and also to render a just and true account thereof when lawfully required. Given under the Seal of Office the Day and Year above-written.
