In 1860 she published "Mary Bunyan: The Blind Dreamer's Daughter", a fictionalized account of the persecution of John Bunyan, author of The Pilgrim's Progress. The bulk of the novel dealt with three women surrounding Bunyan and focused on their strength of resolve. Especially moving in this respect was Ford's depiction of the execution of Elizabeth Gaunt, whose death in 1685 allowed Ford to capture the utmost sacrifice a woman could make in service of her faith.." - The Free Library .
