A very good original cloth binding. 18.5cm x 14cm x 2cm. [2pp.]/pp.16/pp.202 . Maroon cloth with dulled gilt titles and simple blind stamp decoration. Hinges carefully strengthened at some time in the past, and boards with a few marks, still a very good and tight binding. Inner hinges (and inside edge of the title) strengthened. Original front-endpaper laid-down to front board. Title with previous owners signatures to top margin. First 14 pages consist of Preface; Alphabetical Index; and Metrical Index. In all there are 276 separate tunes with musical script (some with words). Clear text throughout. Some pages with a few light blemishes, from previous use. A well preserved book.
