The story of the Boy Scout Movement, and of the man to whose inspiration and devotion it owes its existence. Robert Baden-Powell, then a national hero from the Siege of Mafeking, first published 'Scouting for Boys' in 1908, in fourpenny instalments, and the response was immediate and extraordinary, and within a year Scouting was established not only throughout Britain but in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.
