Foreword by the Minister of the Starbuck United Church (A.M. Simpson) offering a short history of the founding of the Church, as well as a note regarding the compiling of this cook book: "This year, 1949, marks another milestone in the story of progress and advance for the Starbuck congregation. It is the year in which a full-sized concrete basement was put in under the church. The initial impulse, much of the enthusiasm and a great deal of financial aid for this great undertaking came from the Women's Association of the Church. It is in the same spirit of helpfulness that the members and friends of Starbuck United Church Women's Association have compiled this little book of their favorite proven recipes, and, that it will prove a boon to all who use it, is their sincere wish." Extremities rubbed, showing spots, and light creases. Internally, there are various light spots to most pages (unaffecting the legibility of the text), pencil and some ink marks, a few hand-written recipes to the rear "Memo" pages. Overall, good+. Exceedingly scarce in commerce. Remarkably this title was not accounted for in Drivers', Culinary Landmarks. Unrecorded in OCLC. Not in Peel, Guelph, LAC/BAC, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, et al. Rare indeed. .
