Bumped to corners, faded to spine title still readable, scuff towards top end of the spine at the front about 1 inch long, the coloured frontispiece entitled 'Alls Well' is pasted to the front pastedown and has a little creasing towards the hinge, title page clean and fresh, The first Contribution is from Flying Officer W E Johns, The Blue Riband of the Air pages 3-8, lavishly illustrated throughout the book with photographs, plates, sketches and diagrams. The book lacks a rear endpaper and is cracked along the hinge, pagination 1-192 pages including the Contents. A there are four colour plates, one opposite page 136 is by Johns 'Pull out' a 'Bristol Bulldog'--, 16 other full page black and white plates plus numerous black and white illustrations within the text, The book contains a significant amount of material by W E Johns, page 9 there is an article by Flying Officer W E Johns about Croydon Airport.06+This book has clearly been loved and used by previous owners but it remain in a clean and sound condition ready to be enjoyed by today's enthusiasts.
