Poincare, Jules-Henri,
Lecons de Mecanique Celeste Professees a la Sorbonne (Lessons of Celestial Mechanics) (in French) Volumes I and III.
Paris, Gauthier-Villars, 1905, 1910. Very good. 1/2 red leather binding with marbled boards, sl edge and corner wear, contents bright and tight. Vol I has 365 pp and Vol III. has 472 pp including 2 fold-out pages with maps. The work is fundamental to celestial mechanics. Poincare was one of the greatest mathematical minds of the 19th century, his work on the "three boy problem" (the gravitational interplay of three masses) leads some to credit him as a co-discoverer of the special theory of relativity, along with Einstein and Lorentz (Baskingstoke, HAM, UK).
